Frequently Asked Questions

What is the typical time frame for production?

After all files are approved, the production time is about three weeks, possibly shorter. If you are working with a tight time frame, please let us know. Depending on the situation, our creation and production times could be very short and we love working on that basis when we can.

How long does the design phase last?

It depends on the extent of customization and length of time for approvals from clients. Our design/creation timing depends on how quickly we understand the concept, dimensions, and details of the commission. We love what we do and the reward for us is when it’s happily installed - so we work as quickly as we can to get the final product to the site. Here is an example of one of our projects.

Can you use my images?

All products are created by Corbett Wright. We are sorry not to be able to work with other images.

How precise can the panels be?

Like any high-end custom design, the measurements are critical and panels will be created to the exact measurements supplied. We design the panels around things like artwork, light fixtures, electrical switches and the like, so that they are truly customized to your space. For furniture, they are designed to the exact requirements. We attempt to add the ability for a little play - so that the installer has a bit of extra design, where appropriate, as things aren’t as linear in the real world as they are in the digital! Here is an example of the specificity that we work with.

What are the panels made of?

We typically work in large sheets of metal or acrylic. Each panel can be up to 4’ x 8’ and panels can be installed together for a large installation. These have varying thicknesses, depending on how they will be used.

The metal is relatively thin which makes it well suited for many different uses. It can be installed on almost any flat surface - we show examples of it on walls, furniture and appliances on this website.

Our acrylic panels can range from 1/4” to 1” thick and our design is on the back. Still suitable for the same types of installation as the metal panels - the choice of panel really depends on the look and installation. These are decisions made during the design phase.

Here is a more detailed look into the choice of our materials - all proudly made in the USA. Here is a very detailed look at the qualities, installation, and care of our metal panels.

How does the installation work?

In the Installation Guide for the aluminum panels, the manufacturer describes in detail how to work with them. While it sounds complicated, it’s a pretty straightforward process for a carpenter/cabinet maker/installer.

The pieces can be trimmed/cut by the manufacturer to your dimensions. We design each panel to give your installer a little bit of extra design to work with. That way, if a measurement would be for a 36” width, we would try to give you a little extra because sometimes 36” is really 36 1/4 in some places, etc. If the manufacturer cuts the pieces prior to shipping, your installer still will cut them exactly for the installation. Instructions for your installer are in the detailed Installation Guide.

Or, the larger panels can be shipped directly and they would then be cut by your installer to their dimensions. Being large panels, this may be a cumbersome shipment and delivery. We find that cutting at least a little bit is often a good idea.

Both the aluminum and acrylic panels are then installed much like a piece of wood or mirror. Adhesives work well, so, once cut, the installation is straightforward.

The panels arrive to your installer in ready-to-finish condition.
